Solos Santas

The Solo Santas event was born from a dream to honor single parents who work tirelessly to provide for their children and are truly exceptional individuals. This event extended beyond a call for those in financial crisis; it was an invitation for anyone to nominate a single parent they believed deserved recognition and love. And of course, HoneyRock wanted to supply the SPRINKLES for these parents’ Christmas season!

We chose the beautiful Sip + Savor restaurant in Highland Village as our venue, which offered an elegant and lavish atmosphere perfectly aligned with our vision. Over 12 single mothers, each nominated by friends and colleagues, joined us for the event. Their stories ranged from single parenthood to heart-wrenching tales of loss and domestic challenges.

To support these parents, we assembled a team of shoppers who met at Target, pairing them with single parents and providing $150 for each child they had to shop for. After shopping, everyone reconvened at Sip + Savor, where a team of professional gift-wrappers assisted the mothers in wrapping their gifts or gave them the option of sitting back and relaxing while their gifts were wrapped for them. A yummy spread of food and beverages was provided, and many of the moms opted to kick back, relax, and savor the day to the fullest!

Throughout the event, we forged numerous new connections, from the restaurant owner, Jen, at Sip + Savor to the checkout staff at Target. We witnessed the formation of heartwarming friendships among the teams and heard stories of answered prayers and restored faith. Some mothers opened up in ways they never had before, while others finally experienced a day of relaxation.

Together with Jesus, we created a safe atmosphere to be refreshed and see faith restored. Each parent received a personal gift to use as they saw fit, and the day was filled with joy for both our team members and the lovely ladies that joined us for the event!

*One truly heartwarming story that unfolded during the Solo Santas event involved a one-on-one conversation between Amanda and a young mother who had recently lost her husband due to unforeseen circumstances. With the responsibility of being the family’s primary provider, this young mom found herself in a state of uncertainty, needing to find a new job while caring for her two young children after several years of being a stay-at-home mom.

During their conversation, Amanda remembered that Joshua was actively looking to hire someone within his company. Recognizing an opportunity, she facilitated an introduction and shared the employment need. We are thrilled to share that the sweet mother was hired just a couple of weeks later and has since become a blessing to Joshua’s team!

You never know what connections will be made. If this entire event was really only for this one mother to find the means to take care of her family, it was totally worth it!
